Bronnbach Monastery

Discover one of the best preserved Cistercian monasteries in southern Germany.

Bronnbach Monastery is a former Cistercian monastery established in 1151 in the lower Tauber Valley, the 326th of the order, and which is now located within the town of Wertheim in Bronnbach. The monastery has been owned by the Main-Tauber district since 1986.


The culturally important monastery combines the building styles of Romanesque and Gothic, and with its church, cloister, Joseph and Bernhard Halls, is well worth visiting at any time of the year. The monastery delights its guests with a host of musical events.
